Siguniang Mt. (Four Girls Mountain) in Sichuan is regarded as the Oriental Alps – due to its unspoiled natural beauty. It boasts forests, lakes, gorges, and lots of unexpected natural scenery. This hiking adventure will take you to three valleys of the mountain to view the amazing lakes, meadows, snow mountains, glaciers and forests. You will also have chance to take a walk at Wolong Panda Reserve to explore the primitive habitat of wild pandas.

Day

Upon arrival, be picked up and transferred to the hotel. Free at leisure for rest of the day to explore the city famous for its Sichuan foods and leisure lifestyle. Kuanzhai Alleys, Jinli Street, Renmin Park are all nice place to walk around for snacks and local experiences.

Meal: no meal 

After breakfast in hotel, drive around 3 hours to Wolong Panda Research Center in the morning. In the afternoon, you will visit the panda reserve and then take a hike in Dengsheng Valley to explore the primitive habitat of giant pandas and savor the serene nature.

Wolong Panda Reserve

Leave Wolong Panda Reserve for Rilong, a town at the foot of Siguniang Mountain. Today, you will hike in Haizi Valley, which is called Dragon Head Up by local people as the valley shaped like a dragon. This Valley is the entrance to the 1st and 2nd peaks of Siguniang Mt, and it is the most favorites by mountain hikers and mountaineers. Each year on the fourth day of May in lunar calendar, local people make a pilgrimage to the sacred mountain. Hike into the valley and at Guozhuang Meadow (3400m) you can view the main peak of Siguniang Mt. (6250m). Today's hike is around 5 hours and you will see lakes in different colors.

Siguniang Mt. Scenery

This morning you will visit Shuangqiao Valley, most by sightseeing bus. Take bus to the end of the valley to view several peaks over 5000 meters and glacier. On the way back, walk along the plank for around 1.5hrs at altitude between 3200 and 3900 meters to view different kinds of forests. This afternoon, you will enter Changping Valley. This valley is 29km in total, and we will hike the highlight part to Lianghe Kou, which is around 14km and takes 4-5 hours for a round-way hike. Along the way, you can view Lhama Temple, waterfall, meadows, forest, etc.

After breakfast, leave the amazing Sigunian Mountain and return to Chengdu for flight or train to your next destination.
