New Yuanming Palace

Located in Lanpu, Jiuzhou Ave, the New Yuanming Palace features a partial reconstruction of the Old Summer Palace in Beijing, which was destroyed in 1860 by French and British troops during the second Opium War, and never rebuilt on its original site. It covers a land area of 1.39 square kilometers and a water area of 100,000 square meters. It is one of the "Top Ten Tourist Attractions of Zhuhai".

Besides its buildings, the New Yuanming Palace attracts tourists with its various performances. Everyday there are performances of Qing properties and folk vaudevilles with features of the culture and art of the Ming and Qing dynasties. There are also numerous and attractive souvenirs you can choose from on the shopping streets. The streets are modeled after the Old Summer Palace shopping streets, where ancient emperors experienced the daily life of the common people.
