Silver Heights Winery

After checking in and checking out wineries around China, world-famous wine critic and certified master of wine, Jancis Robinson, in her article published in Financial Times in April 2010, rated Silver Height Winery as another rising star in China’s wine industry.

Situated on the eastern hillside of Helan Mountain, 30 miles (48km) away from Yinchuan city center in Ningxia Autonomous Region, Silver Heights has started producing wine since 2007. Here the grapes are planted at an altitude of 1,200 meters, making it one of China’s highest vineyards. Given its abundant sunshine and high-quality stony soil that makes the roots of the grapevines get deep into the ground in order to absorb water and minerals, this area enjoys great conditions for viticulture and produces spicy wines - the typical style of the Helan Mountain.

Emma developed her winemaking skills during internships in renown Château Calon-Ségur and Château Lafon-Rochet, and later apply the exquisite brewing techniques of French oenology what she has learned from Bordeaux to Silver Heights.
