Of the all the Chinese games, Mahjong is one of the oddest and most popular one in nowadays. People are playing Mahjong for fun, relax and keeping the mind active. Those who are keen on Chinese culture and traditions are encouraged to take this 12-day China tour for a unique Mahjong experience in China, by playing with locals, visiting Mahjong museums and the birthplace of Mahjong.

Day 01 Arrival in Shanghai (D)

Upon arrival in Shanghai, our guide will meet you at the airport, and transfer to hotel. After lunch in local restaurant, visit Dongtai Road Antique Market and take a walk at Xintiandi area. After dinner, transfer to hotel. Optional Acrobatic Show at night. 

Day 02 Shanghai (B, L)

Visit Yu Garden and Yu Market nearby in the morning. And then, go for a bird view of Huangpu River and the city from the 263m high sightseeing floor of the Oriental Pearl TV Tower. Afternoon take a walk along the Bund, following a visit to Tianzifang Old Quarters.   

Day 03 Shanghai / Ningbo (B, L, D)

After breakfast, transfer to take a speed train to Ningbo (2.5 hours). After lunch, you will go to visit Mahjong Museum located at Tianyi Pavilion. Ningbo is regarded as the birthplace of this popular Chinese game. Visit Tianyi Pavillion, which is the oldest existing library in China, founded in 1561. In the evening, have a game in hotel’s Mahjong room (cost for the room and drink is not included). 

Day 04 Ningbo /Hangzhou (B, L)

Visit the Old Bund, which is one of the five major seaports to open to the West. And have a free walk in the old quarters. After lunch, board a speed train to Hangzhou (1 hour). After arrival, transfer to a local Majhong House for a game.  

Day 05 Hangzhou / Guilin (B, L, D)

Explore the West Lake by boat. With its beautiful lakes, mountains and many attractions, Hangzhou has become the world-famous tourist destination and is known as the "paradise on earth". Then proceed to Lingyin Temple -- one of the ten most famous ancient Buddhist monasteries in China. Next to the temple, go to the Feilai Peak, 209 meters (about 700 feet) tall, is a pure limestone mountain that is very distinctive from the sandstone mountain around it. Later, go and see the Meijiawu Tea Plantation to enjoy a leisure time there. Transfer to the airport and fly to Guilin in the evening. Transfer to the hotel. 

Day 06 Guilin / Yangshuo (B, L)

This morning, you will take a ship cruise on Li River (about 3-4hrs). Play a majhong game at hotel in the afternoon. Optional Light and sound show Impression Liu Sanjie at night. 

Day 07 Yangshuo / Guilin /Chengdu (B, D)

You will take a Taichi Boxing Course (about 1hr) in the city park before breakfast (7am-8am). And then, back to hotel for breakfast and the rest of the time is free at leisure for your own exploration (free shopping in West Street or take an optional tour of bamboo rafting on Yulong River). After late lunch at 1pm, transfer to Guilin airport for flight to Chengdu. 

Day 08 Chengdu (B, L, D)

Visit Wenshu Temple after breakfast, and following the visit to Mahjong Museum. After lunch with famous Sichuan Cuisine, visit Chengdu People's Park, where you will join in the Majong game in the local teahouse (2-3 hrs). Enjoy hot pot dinner in local restaurant. Optional Sichuan Opera at night featured with mask-changing show. 

Day 09 Chengdu / Beijing (B, L, D)

Visit Giant Panda Breeding Research Base in the morning. Afterwards, take a walk at Kuanzhai Alley before lunch. Transfer to the airport for afternoon flight to Beijing. 

Upon arrival in Beijing, be met at the airport and transfer to hotel check in. Enjoy Beijing Roast Duck Dinner.

Day 10 Beijing (B, L, D)

City sightseeing to Tiananmen Square and Forbidden City (closed on Monday) in the morning. Lunch will be taken in local courtyard family in the Hutongs and then play Majhong game 2-3hrs with the families (or on your own). In the late afternoon, take a walk along Houhai Lake before dinner. Optional Kungfu show at night.

Day 11 Beijing (B, L, D)

After breakfast, Great Wall tour to Mutianyu section with round way cable car included. En route, take a stop in Jade processing factory for around 40min. On the way back to hotel, take a picture stop at Bird Nest and Water Cubic.

Day 12 Beijing departure (B, L)

Transfer to visit Temple of Heaven, where the ancient emperors used to pray for the God’s bless of the whole nation and it is regarded as a masterpiece of architecture and landscape design. After that, transfer to airport for your flight.
