Explore Beijing and Xian, two historical capitals and the bustling metropolis Shanghai, to experience the dramatic old and new China. Apart from visiting the UNESCO-protected world heritages and skyscrapers, such as the Great Wall, Forbidden City, Terra Cotta Warriors, Shanghai Tower, you'll also take many special lessons & activities on Tai Chi, traditional Chinese etiquette, dumpling making, mini Terracotta making, Beijing Opera mask painting...

Day

Embark the fantastic journey to China with classmates. Upon arrival at the Beijing Daxing International Airport, one of world's biggest and busiest airports, be met and greeted by your tour guide, and transfer to your hotel at downtown. Beijing is the political and cultural center of China, with numerous important ancient sites. Enjoy the welcome dinner with a briefing of the tour.

Wake up in China's dynasty capital and have hearty breakfast with all the students at hotel. Navigate to the huge Tiananmen Square, the heart of China, where you can see some monuments and important buildings, including Tiananmen Rostrum where Chairman Mao's portrait is still hung up. Wall through the big red gate to enter the Forbidden City to unveil the mystery of Chinese Imperial Palace of Ming and Qing Dynasty. Take a lesson to study the essence and culmination of traditional Chinese architectural accomplishment with over 500 years’ history. In the afternoon, visit Hutong. The narrow lanes is an essential part of the old town of Beijing, where you will see the local Beijingers' way of life. Furthermore, students will take an interesting class here - to do the Peking Opera facial makeup.

Forbidden City

Today the class will go outing to Mutianyu Great Wall. The symbol of China, the Great Wall is a larger-than-life historic site, as long as 21,196 km (13,171 mi), with a history of over 2000 years. Mutianyu is one of the most important and best-kept sections of the Great Wall. After ascendthe top, you can view the North China landscape. Students can learn the history and fun facts of the Great Wall. They may even imagine how this ancient battlefield worked two millenniums ago. And now it is picnic lunch time Enjoy the foods, nature and company of classmates. Drive back to downtown, and view the modern side of Beijing on route. Have an exterior visit of Bird's Nest, one of the main venues for 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Then step into National Centre for the Performing Arts, one of the modern landmarks of Beijing, uniquely designed by French architect Paul Andreu. It features opera house, concert hall, theater, art exhibition hall, restaurant, video store and other supporting facilities.

Mutianyu Great Wall

It is a day for some morning exercise and kung fu learning. Visit Temple of Heaven, a scared site where the ancient emperor worshipped the God for good harvests and stable reign. Right here, a Tai Chi teacher has been waiting for your class. Students will learn from him/her to practice Tai Chi, a classic form of Chinese martial art. Practice the soft moves, you will feel energetic and refreshed. Later, mingle with local Chinese passengers to take the fast and comfortable bullet train to Xian. You will experience the advanced HSR system, which is one of China's greatest modern achievements. Arrive Xian, which was a center of the world during Tang Dynasty.

Today, you will see one of world's most important archeological findings - the Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses Museum. It is known as the eighth wonder of the world. The Terracotta Army from Qin Dynasy was the burial objects of Emperor Qinshihuang, and shows the military might during the cold weapon era. Here's a rare chance that all the students can make their own mini terracotta soldier with clay. Proceed to visit a Tang Dynasty pagoda and the landmark of Xian city - Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Students should be interested in the legendary stories of Master Xuanzang who traveled on the Silk Road to bring Buddhist classics from India to Xian. Also enjoy the beautiful music fountain on the Wild Goose Pagoda North Square (one of Aisa's biggest). Later, take a  traditional Han Etiquette class at Grand Tang Dynasty Ever Bright City. All students will put on the Han Clothing, and learn from the Teacher about the Dress etiquette and how to salute, bow, greet, etc. according to the traditional Chinese etiquette.

Student tour in Xian

This morning, your class will get in China's best preserved ancient city wall, 13.7m long and around 15m wide, which saw the heyday of the Silk Road a thousand year ago. Enjoy a brisk bike on the wall - an exciting activity for the energetic girls and boys. Then be invited by a local family to their home, chatting with friendly hosts. Xian people are famous for their hospitality. Learn from them to make dumpling, the most popular Chinese food. Enjoy the dumpling made yourself for lunch. Wave goodbye, and continue your school trip, getting to Shanghai after an air journey. Shanghai is the busiest and most dynamic city in China, and the best place to witness the county’s modern tale.

Making dumpling

Shangahi boasts one of China's best museums  - Shanghai Museum, with mainly an art collection of 140,000 precious relics, featuring bronzes, ceramics, paintings and calligraphy. Students will further know China's art history. Take a walk of People’s Park, known as the center of Shanghai. Here you’ll find a matchmaking corner, even very interesting for the young people to know China’s “new form” of dating. Then learn Shanghai’s turbulent modern history, visiting the former French Concession. And drive through Pudong New District and view the most fast-growing financial and economic areas in China. And take the elevator to get in Shangahi Tower, so far China’s tallest and world’s second tallest building. At its observation deck, you can take in an amazing high-altitude view and glimpse China’s future.

After breakfast, drive out of downtown to Zhujiajiao, an ancient town with the history of 1700 years old, which renowned as the “Venice of the east’’. The whole town is surrounded by water. It is a place with admires antiquated architecture, tranquil canals and crumbling bridges. Back to downtown in the afternoon, you will visit Yu Garden, one of the most famous gardens in China. Chinese garden is so different from western style, and Yu Garden is a typical one with pavilions, halls, rockeries, ponds and cloisters with unique characteristics. Tour ends at the Bund, to admire the 20th-century colonial buildings and learn more about Shanghai's history. Meal: B, L, D

If you wish, take a Maglev train, running at 300-430 KM/H, and transfer to the airport your flight back home. End of your 9 days China school tour. Welcome to China again!
