This roots-seeking China tour is especially designed for overseas Chinese like you by offering an exploratory and interactive look at great China: you will visit Beijing and Xian for ancient China’s several heritages and Hutong to see the traditional lifestyle of local Beijinger; explore Karst wonderland in Guilin (Yangshuo); and witness China’s dramatic changes in Shanghai.

Day
Be met at the airport and transferred to check in hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure.  

Excursion to the Tiananmen Square first--it covers an area of 100 acres and can host at least 1 million people, which makes it the largest public square in the world. Then go to the Forbidden City, located in the center of Beijing Municipality, was once the home of the 24 emperors and their households of the Ming and Qing dynasties, and the ritual and political center of the Chinese government. Later, the Temple of Heaven, which was used by the Emperors to pray for the God’s bless of the whole nation. Tonight, enjoy Beijing Roast Duck Dinner.

Overseas Chinese visit Forbidden City

After breakfast at hotel, private escorted tour to Mutianyu Great Wall, 1.5 hours drive from down town Beijing. You will take round-way cable car to the wall and walk on the Great Wall for around 2 hours. Back in the afternoon and take a 3-wheel rickshaw to Hutong to see the traditional lifestyle of local Beijingers.

This morning, you will visit Yonghe Lamaseryand the Confucius Temple before transfering to take a speed train to Xian (6 hours). Be met and transferred to the hotel.

The old courtyard houses at Hutong of Beijing

Transfer to visit the famous Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses Museum, which is one of the highlight attractions in China. It is significant because of the hundreds of detailed life-size clay warriors and horses of more than 2200 years old. Then drive back to Xian, have a walk at the Old City Quarters, where you can experience the real life of local people and appreciate their architecture styles.

Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses Museum

After breakfast, go to visit Small Wild Goose Pagoda, Xian Museum, then have lunch, transfer to the airport and fly to Guilin. Transfer to the hotel.

Transfer to take a 4-hour cruise on Li River, which is the highlight of sightseeing tour in Guilin. Disembark at the old town Yangshuo. Free exploration at the West Street. Optional Impression Sister Liu Sanjie show at night.

Countryside tour by car to see the stunning landscape and local farmer’s life, then have an optional tour of bamboo rafting down Yulong River (1 hour). After lunch, transfer to Guilin airport and fly to Shanghai.

City tours to the Yu Garden and Yu Market, Jade Buddha Temple, World Financial Center, the Bund and Nanjing Road.
