Day

Arrive in Beijing. Our professional guide will greet you at the exit of airport/rail station, holding a welcome name board. Later enjoy a private transfer to your deluxe hotel located at city downtown. Enjoy the rest of this day on your own.

For your leisure time, it’s suggested to visit some sites which are not included in your itinerary but you may want to explore by yourself, such as the Yonghe Lamasery and Wangfujing Snack Street. Yonghe Lamasery isa Tibetan Buddhist temple in the northeast corner of Beijing with hundreds of history, and Wangfujing Snack Street set on a narrow alley off the main walking street. Along the 810-meter walking street, you will find many kinds of food along the roadsides, such as the deep fried insects. Some is not normal food but for attracting tourists' attention.

This morning, meet your private guide and driver at hotel. Take a short ride before startingtoday’s trip with the exploration of Tiananmen Square, the world's largest city center square and the center of Beijing. Many important sites can be found here, such as the Monument to the People’s Heroes, Great Hall of the People, and the Mao Zedong Memorial. Walk through the Gate of Heavenly Peace to enter the Forbidden City, which is officially known as the Imperial Palace Museum and has a long history over 500 years. The Treasure Museum of the Forbidden City is included in the visit. As a treasure trove, a large amount of royaltreasures in past dynasties can be found here, such as glittering gold and silver wares, super good pearls, emeralds, china, golden phoenix crowns, and ivory jade carvings.

In the afternoon, pay a visit to Houhai Area. You will wander around Hutongs, namely Beijing’s traditional alleyways, represents Beijing’s origin, location or history. Also take a pedicab (twin share) through the Hutongs, to see the local people’s life. In the evening, enjoy Peking duck dinner in a renowned restaurant. As a royal dish in the Imperial Age of ancient China, Peking Roasted Duck is now available to everyone in Beijing and making up a superior dinner experience. Enjoy yourself.

Visit the architecture of Forbidden City

Meet your guide and driver again today at hotel, and then drive ahead northeast of Beijing. The Great Wall is one of the great wonders in the world and the symbol of China. Mutianyu Great Wall is 70km from city center and it takes around 1.5hrs from your hotel. This section of the Great Wall was built in Ming Dynasty was used to serve as the northern barrier defending the capital and the imperial tombs. You will take around 2-3 hours to walk on the 2.5km walls and 23 towers.Cables cars up and down are included. If you prefer to try the toboggan for fun, please feel free to let your guide know before he buys the entry tickets. After the visit of Mutianyu Great Wall, take a walk to nearby Mutianyu village. Mutianyu village is known by locals as “International Cultural Village”, due to its mixed culture by several countries. Instead of visiting the Great Wall only, we explore more around to get close to locals, to get into a real China.

A fair amount of walking can be involved today, at your own pace, so a pair of nice walking shoes would be ideal.
On the way back city, pay a visit to 798 Art Zone, where houses a thriving artistic community of modern Chinese artists. It’s also the world-famous cultural and creative industries centralized area.

OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES

  • The Legend of Kong Fu Show is a must-see production in Beijing for tourists and Kung Fu lovers. A group of the best Kung Fu practitioners of China are collected and the best directors and designers of the country are invited by CHC. There are English subtitles shown above the stage to keep you informed of the story line. There is no speaking of the actors, just Kung fu show, dance and acrobatics. The fusion of modern dance with Chinese traditional martial arts makes this performance unique and spectacular.

Visit Mutianyu Great Wall in Winter

This morning, we will visit Temple of Heaven before a train journey to Xi’an. The Temple of Heaven (Tiantan Park) is an imperial complex Taoist buildings situated in the southeastern part of central Beijing, Chongwen District. The name literally means an altar to worship the heaven. In Ming and Qing Dynasties, the Emperors would visit here at a specific time for annual ceremonies of prayer to Heaven for good harvest.Besides the impressed architectures in the park, you might also be inspired by local people who are doing variety morning exercise here. Joining a team to kick shuttlecock, watching masters writing characters on floor, appreciating a square dancing, etc., any of them would be full of fun.

After the visit of Temple of Heaven, we will treat you with some local deserts in a small and renowned snack shop. Beijing, as one of the biggest city in China, lots of popular snacks can be found here. Some of them are speially loved by local people, such as Mung Bean Milk, Rolling Donkey (a kind of dessert), Pea Flour Cake. You may not like some taste of them, but it can be fun to get close to the real local food habit.

In the afternoon, with the company of your guide, you will be transferred to rail station. Say goodbye to your guide and get on a high speed train for Xi’an. The train journey takes around 4.5hrs, and you will be booked in a 1st class  seated carriage for this journey. Each row has two chairs on either side of the aisle. The room for 1st class seat is larger than the 2nd class seat. A small pack of snacks will be prepared for you for the train time. Upon arrival at Xi’an rail station, luggage porter arranged in advance will help you with your big suitcases until you meet your guide at the exit. Enjoy a private transfer to your hotel.

In the morning, meet your private guide at hotel lobby, and then set off for Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses Museum, which is one of the top attractions in China and famous for its historical significance and uniqueness. You will be offered a ride by a shuttle vehicle from the entrance to the sites, in order to save your physical energy from more than 10 minutes meaningless walking. From here, you will get to know human military force in cold weapon era, how the military was organized, what weapons they used, and the superb pottery handicraft of ancient China.

On the way back to downtown Xian, be invited into a local family’s cave house, which is a traditional dwelling in North China. Make your own mini size of warrior with the guidance of local craftsman and take it homeas a perfect souvenir. The process is about 30 minutes, and you are doing a great thing to support local economy which is always relying on tourism.

Later, stroll leisurely through the local Muslim community to glimpse Hui people’s daily life and customs, and visit the Great Mosque of Xian blending both traditional Chinese and Islamic architectural style. And stimulate the appetite with hundreds of street foods, snacks and drinks at the Muslim Quarter.

  • Dinner is not included for your own preference. Options such as dumpling banquet in renowned De Fa Chang restaurant and Dumpling Banquet with Tang Dynasty Music & Dancing Show are ready for you. With both of the options, you can enjoy not only various flavor dumplings but also their lovely shapes. Besides the dumpling banquet, the Tang Dynasty Music and Dancing Show will also offer you a wonderful performance of the ancient music and dance.

Learn dumpling in Xian local family

Morning, continue your private Xi’an tour to visit Xi’an Museum and Small Wild Goose Pagoda. Xian Museum is a collection of museums, places of interest and urban gardens. Now it has become a historical and cultural site for travelers and the local residents to learn the history of Xian and to enjoy a peaceful and relaxed time. The Small Wild Goose Pagoda is a multi-eave and square brick structure built in the year 707 A.D during the Tang dynasty.

At an appropriate time, be companied to airport and check in your flight. Because of the time reason, there should be no time for lunch in city. A pack of snacks will be prepared for you for the flight time. The airline meals are really simple, so a pack of snack is a nice supplement just in case you don’t either like restaurants inside the airport.

Leave Xi’an behind and fly to Guilin. Your guide for Guilin area will be waiting for you at the exit of airport, and then transfer you to Club Med which is around 1 hour away by car. Meals are inclusive in the package of Club Med.

Today is a relax stop along the trip. You will enjoy the leisure here at Club Med, and try the activities they offer for fun.

Ride a bike to the countryside of Guilin

In the morning, be met at hotel by your private tour guide and driver, and then head for Xingping. Nine Horse Fresco Hill is said to be the most beautiful and famous hill along Li River. This morning you will set off on your private bamboo rafting  to visit the picturesque Li River, from Yangdi to Nine Horse Fresco Hill and then back Yangdi. The cruise duration is around 1.5hrs. Immerse yourself into the amazing natural scenery, clear water, unique hills, and the bamboo trees along the river bank…
After the Li River Cruise, a trip to Mt. Xianggongshan (optional) would be perfect. Mt. Xianggongshan requires hundreds of stairs to take before reaching the top, so you are supposed to be in a good level of fitness. The reward is worth of the climbing. Standing on the sightseeing stage, thank your own self for choosing this site. A panoramic view over the Li River and surrounding hills comes out as a vast Chinese landscape painting before you.

After lunch in a local restaurant, you will be privately guided to do a countryside tour and get as closer to local farming life as possible. The tractor is widely used in farming work in 1970s and 1980s, instead of draught animals. Taking tractor, a kind of transportation you may never see to visit the countryside would turn your thoughts back to decades ago. Be a Chinese farmer with fun! You will also have an opportunity to see local people making straw mat for extra income during the slack season.

  Kind Reminder  

  • Tourists, who are at the age of over 70 years or shorter than 1.2m (kids), are not allowed to take bamboo rafting according to local policy for security reason. Please let us know in advance if bamboo rafting is not proper for you, then we can change for another good activity.

View Xianggong Hill, one of the most beautiful karst peaks in Yangshuo

At an appropriate time, be transferred to airport for your flight to Shanghai. Upon arrival, be greeted by your private guide in Shanghai, and transfer to hotel. After a short rest in hotel, with accompany of your private guide, you will begin to visit a fraction of Shanghai city, Shanghai Museum  and the Bund. The Shanghai Museum (Closed on Monday), which is a large museum of ancient Chinese art. It boasts 120,000 pieces of rare and precious cultural relics in twenty-one categories, including bronze ware, ceramics, calligraphy, paintings, sculpture, furniture, jade and ivory carvings, bamboo and wood carvings, lacquer ware, oracle bones, seals, coins, and handicrafts of ethnic art.

The Bund has a remarkable collection of 19th to 20th Century colonial buildings, which were originally banks, commercial and trade buildings, hotels, customs house, etc. Of all the buildings along the Bund, it’s easy to find Fairmont Peace Hotel. Since 1929, the building has been standing there for over 90 years. A visit to Peace Museum inside the Peace Hotel is available from 10am-7pm if you are interested in (closed on public holidays). In the quiet, dedicated space of the Peace Museum are collected items and memorabilia of the hotel.

  • Shanghai Acrobatic Show - Acrobatic art in China has a long history and is a precious and excellent cultural heritage of the Chinese nation. Acrobatics covers a wide variety of subjects. Nowadays, it is the combination of traditional Chinese acrobatic arts and modern technology, such as multimedia, lighting, sound effects, and elaborate costumes. You will be amazed at the charm of Chinese acrobatic.

In the morning, start the trip from your hotel. The first stop is Shanghai Tower. Take elevator up to Shanghai Tower for a panoramic view of this city. Shanghai Tower is a giant high-rise landmark skyscraper in Shanghai, China. It was officially completed in 2016, and became the highest buildings in China and the second tallest building in the world. You will take the express elevator, taking only a minute to reach the observation deck on floor 119 - look out over the buzzing city and spot The Bund, the Huangpu River, and the Oriental Pearl Tower.

If time permits (depend on how much time spend for the Shanghai Tower), we will guide you to visit the Tianzifang. Tianzifang is a narrow lane dotted with local style Shikumen Houses, which is one symbol of Shanghai folk culture. Nostalgic brick walls, pieced together with elaborately paved brick pedestrian roads make Tianzifang all the more distinctive from other well-known but banal tourist sites.

Have a Dim Sum meal for lunch. Dim Sum is a traditional style of Chinese cuisine.   It is prepared as small bite-sized portions of food served in small steamer baskets or on a small plate, together with tea. People in Shanghai are really good at making exquisite dim sum. Tasting several kinds of Dim Sum in a nice restaurant, will be a memorable experience for Shanghai.

After lunch, drive around 1 hour to a nearby water town Zhujiajiao ancient town. Zhujiajiao Ancient Town is one of the top 4 historical and cultural old towns in shanghai, and it’s a typical water town in south China. Here you will see a town with unique old bridges across bubbling streams, small rivers shaded by willow trees, and houses with courtyards. Experience a short cruise along the canal inside the town. After the trip, drive back city.

Free at leisure until the appointed time, be met by your guide at hotel and take the private transfer to airport.
