Huangshan Overview

Mt. Huangshan When you talk about Huangshan, there are two concepts involved. One is Huangshan City, which is situated in the south of Anhui Province. Another is Huangshan Mountain, which is located in the municipal territory, but 64 km away from city center.

Mt. Huangshan (also Yellow Mountain) offers four wonders, namely, grotesque rocks, unique shaped pine trees growing out of cliffs, marvelous sea of clouds and crystal-clear hot springs. It inspires countless Chinese painters and poets for thousands of years, and is widely recognized as the most beautiful mountain in China with its breathtakingly awesome scenery. Hiking up the Huangshan Mountain by different trails or cable car to view all the best scenery or historical relics is a heavenly experience and "No need to see any other mountains after Huangshan!"

Touring in Huangshan area, visitors can also visit small villages nearby where the unique local traditional Hui style houses are relatively well preserved. Among them, Xidi and Hongcun were listed as UNESCO-approved World Heritage Sites together with Yellow Mountain. Historic folk houses, ancestral temples, archway, white walls and grey tiles, projecting horse-head walls, stone benches, old wells, stone bridge leads visitors into vivid Chinese ancient paintings and get rewards from moments of tranquility, and the idyllic views.
